Tom Tessin asked:

Today there are so many different credit cards on the market. If you’re searching, you can find a card that suits your business needs, is for traveling, for gasoline purchases, for college students, people with bad credit, and the list goes one.

Although there are a lot of great credit cards on the market, I do have one favorite. I personally like credit cards that give me cash back. These are great because every time you shop, you are guaranteed to spend less than you would with cash or any other card. These credit cards are usually considered cash back cards or cash rebate cards.

If you’ve heard about these and are interested in getting one, but you’re not quite sure what they are all about and what they offer, continue reading below so we can explain!

What is a Cash Rebate Credit Card?

There are a lot of credit cards on the market. You will find that some give you one point per dollar spent, and that some don’t reward you at all. Unlike both of these, cash back cards or cash rebate cards are different. When you sign up for a card, you will be told what cash back percentage you will be rewarded. Most cards are 1% but some can go up to 20% on certain purchases! What this means is that whenever you make a purchase, you will get 1% cash back on each purchase you make. Although, what’s even better is that certain cards offer even more. You may get 1% cash back on every purchase, 5% cash back on gas purchases and 10% for shopping online.

All of these cards are great, but they offer different rewards. So, when you’re looking, you will want to find one that will benefit you the most. If you spend a lot of money on gas, get one with a good bonus for gas stops, or if you shop online, find a card that rewards you for that!

So many people are against using credit cards for several different reasons. They say they only get people into debt, hurt their credit and are dangerous to use. Although, if you pay your balances off in full and use your card like a debit card how can they possibly hurt you? Be wise with your purchases, pay on time, in full and receive nothing but benefits like the benefits of a cash back card!

Irsan Komarga asked:

Applying for a credit card that features cash back would always seem to be a great deal. Well, getting some money back every time you buy something using your card even to the smallest amount isn’t bad at all. It sure is a hell of a deal, isn’t it?

Most cash back cards would offer around 1% back. Though the fact that it’s too small; money is still money. There’s nothing wrong to have some of it returned in your pocket upon purchase.

If you’re a shopaholic who happens to shop a lot each month then a cash back card would suit you best. But keep in mind that this feature doesn’t always apply in every purchase you make. Though many of these cards would claim such offer, the truth is that they will only provide you cash back up to a certain amount given for every purchase you make. These credit companies have a limit on the cash backs they are giving to their consumers. If you happen to read their terms and conditions usually found at the back of your application paper, you will be able to read a portion talking about the limits they have.

This manner is one of the many strategies of every credit company has implemented. It is one of the many ways in drawing more people to avail of their credit cards. But before you’re being issued with their card, they would still check your credit rating.

The best thing to do is to go over every credit card that offers such benefit. You’ll be glad to find credit cards that offer cash backs that have higher percentage with few limits. Some would even provide an instant cash deposit for every purchase you make.

But always remember that most of these credit companies would require you to have a great credit rating before they would approve your application. But there are still some of these companies that offer such feature to people who have low credit ratings to help them rebuild.

So what do you think? Is a cash back card an advantage or a disadvantage? Is it a good idea or a bad one? Well, the answer lies within you depending on your lifestyle. If you think cash back cards suits your best interest, then why not go for it! After all, having to get back a certain amount of money from every purchase is not a bad idea. It’s not perfect but it sure is a helpful benefit.
